I always look forward to the Atlantic Antic Street Festival in Brooklyn. One of the city’s largest street festivals, now celebrating 40 years. Normally held on the last Sunday in September, the festival runs along Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and Fourth Avenue.
For me the festival represents Brooklyn at its best – a mixture of gorgeous mosaic culture, mouth-watering food and vendors selling the most colorful assortments of clothes, jewelry, vintage and otherwise.
Atlantic Antic is on my annual to do list.
SNAPSHOTS:
The perfect weather – Under beautiful blue skies, enjoying the festivities. Crowds being entertained by street performers.
Colorful clothing and accessories.
Lip smacking food – I am a sucker for roasted corn on the cob.
At this point I was busy eating the macaroni and cheese and the best ever chocolate cake (made by the church ladies) to snap pictures. (I stood in line for ½ hour, so worth it)!
I took in the atmosphere of everything.
If I had the home space I would have bought a few baskets.
I had to snap this Billie Beads Skull…so colorful and cute
I came across Instagram favorite and cutie pie CoCo while resting my tired feet on one of the MTA display buses. Sporting her trademark Afro-Bob hairdo and her ever present Michael Jordanesque wagging tongue. So fluffy and adorable.
